From the GM- Phil says

Dear Members,

As we welcome the arrival of spring, I want to update you on the recent developments and initiatives happening at Vicars Cross Golf Club.

Course Conditions: Despite the challenges posed by closures during March and early April due to the weather, the course has quickly rebounded with the cessation of rain. It’s now shaping up well, providing the playing experience we all anticipate this time of year.

Farewell to Dan Davis: It is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to Dan Davis, our excellent head Chef. Dan’s contributions have been instrumental in setting such high standards during his tenure. While we will miss him, we wish him the very best as he embarks on a new journey at the University of Chester. We are committed to maintaining the high culinary standards our members expect.

Social Activities: Our Men’s and Ladies’ Captains, along with our front-of-house team, continue to drive engaging social activities. Their efforts have gathered significant support, and I can’t thank them enough for their fantastic support and enthusiasm. Remember our Club is just more than a place to play golf. Your support and involvement is very much welcomed.

Ladies New to Golf: A warm welcome to all our new lady members! Thanks to the success of our Ladies New to Golf scheme, we’ve welcomed 8 new full members and 12 Associate Members. This achievement reflects the warm and supportive environment created by our Lady volunteers. With ongoing efforts, we anticipate further growth in our ladies section.

Swing Room: Our newly constructed swing room is now open for bookings via our new system. Whether you’re refining your technique or analysing your performance, this space is designed to elevate your game. Feel free to reach out to Martin O Connor or myself for more details or to schedule a viewing.

Ladies Toilets and Showers: We’ve commenced the refurbishment of the ladies’ showers and toilets to enhance our facilities, particularly in our endeavour to attract more female golfers. While there may be minor disruptions during this period, we appreciate your understanding as we strive to improve our facilities.

Sustainability Efforts: In line with our commitment to sustainability, we’re upgrading our lighting to reduce power consumption and enhance the ambiance of our club. This eco-friendly initiative not only improves our facilities but also significantly reduces our energy footprint.

New Member Inductions: Our induction sessions for new members, conducted by the Captain and I have been a resounding success. These sessions aim to introduce new members to our club – it’s culture and operations while facilitating connections with fellow members.

Remember, if you have any questions or issues about the Club, the Course or generally your membership, please drop me an email (enquiries@vicarscrossgolf.co.uk) or pop into the Office.

Happy Golfing!
